Penfolds Winery

On 5ha of South Australia’s suburban growth sits the iconic Penfold’s Magill Estate. Purchased in 1844, just eight years after the colonisation of South Australia, the heritage-listed but quite modest Grange Cottage still stands. The estate now houses a vineyard, a number of historic, bluestone winery buildings and the newly-renovated cellar door.

This project involved the reconditioning of heritage listed walls and tunnels, the integration of heritage elements in the existing building into the new building and making good the existing structural elements of the building that had deteriorated over time whilst considering the heritage listing and conservation practices.
